Get To Know Monti
At FCI, every client relationship starts with connection. Our team members bring their whole selves to work, their experiences, their compassion, and their dedication to helping others. Here's a glimpse into who they are and why they love what they do.
Tell us about yourself-where you're from, what you love to do, and anything else you'd like us to know!
I was born and raised in Thomson. Nothing interesting about me. I love to be outdoors. I love to kayak, camp, and hike. I love to listen to old vinyl; I like to cook and read. I have been married to Russell for almost eight years. We have a blended family, 4 children and 2 grandchildren. We have three dogs, two of them go everywhere we go. My favorite place to be, other than home, is the beach, Jekyll specifically. I try to go as often as possible.
What is your role at FCI and how long have you been here?
I am the Operations Director on one name tag, Operations manager on another and COO on most communications. You will need to clarify exact title with David. I have been with Family Care, just shy of 20 years. I started in May of 2006 as an assistant to the Operations Manager. Not long after I started, I established our first “HR” department and became HR Manager(not sure of date). I later officially became whatever I am now, helping to manage HR, Scheduling, Payroll, FCI daily operations, and Daycares. I have worn many hats during my time, not much I have not done.
What is your favorite part of working with the families we serve?
I love to be part of what allows someone to remain in their home and remain active as they age. To be home, to remain an active part of the community and family is so important as we age. It allows us to continue to feel vital and connected.
What do you enjoy most about being a part of the FCI team?
I enjoy my team the most. We have a wonderful team at FCI. We have so many people who go above beyond. I see people doing all they can to make sure clients and coworkers are happy, taken care of, and prayed for. FCI is a community of caring, that is what I enjoy the most, being part of a team that really cares for one another.
What is something clients or FCI have taught you?
I have learned so many things working for FCI. I have learned to listen more. Everyone needs to be heard. I have learned to be more patient, more considerate. I have learned that we should help wherever we can, while we can, as often as we can. We are all going to get there one day, God willing. Hopefully, someone will be there to help us in return.
Share a memorable moment with a client that has always stayed with you.
I went to visit one of our clients to see how the services were going. I remember sitting on the edge of her hospital bed, holding her hands as she talked to me about her children and grandchildren. She told me how her caregiver from FCI spoiled her all the time. She even asked me if she could try on one of my rings. We talked for quite a while that day. She was so sweet. It stays with me because what I experienced in her home was exactly what FCI is all about. She was exactly where she wanted to be, at home. She was safe, happy, well cared for and loved. FCI was a part of what made that happen for her. It makes me proud to be part of the FCI team.
